Why Safe Storage Matters
Under NSW law, all licensed firearm owners must ensure their firearms are stored securely when not in use.
Proper gun safe storage not only meets legal requirements but also helps:
- Prevent unauthorised access
- Protect your firearms from damage or theft
- Promote community safety
What You Need to Know
- Firearms must be stored in a locked, compliant gun safe when not in use.
- Ammunition must be stored separately or in a locked container within the safe.
- Storage requirements differ depending on firearm category – always check the NSW Firearms Registry guidelines for up-to-date information.
